Working at a big company like eskom gave me a good experiance

Im ERNEST MATOME RAPETSOA ELECTRUACIAN BY QUALIFICATION AS I HAVE COMPLETED MY TRADE TEST AND CURENTLY WAITING FOR MY NATIONAL N DIPLOMA TO BE RELEASED. IM A HARD WORKING DEDICATED MAN WITH PASSION TO WORK UNDER PRESURE AND CO OPERATE TO MY TASK WHEN I DO SOME TASK.

Pros: im good and enjoy working as a team even when im alone i enjoy to work under preasure
Cons: i can work from 12 hours a day and including over time and night shift wher it will be nided

Read and do practical

Work long hours. Make somebody aware of incoming danger and help. Motivator in any situation. Handle different types of candidates with different behaviour. Problem solver. Seek help or more information when am stucked.

I had a good experience training with the company and obtained mechanical fitter trade certificate

  I did general maintenance, inspection and fault finding to conveyor systems, gearbox, valves, pumps and many machinery. I am a good team player. I managed to obtain mechanical fitter trade certificate through the same company. I enjoy being given chance to bring opinions on the topic on how other things can be done that together we lift the company as high as we can

Pros: I had a good time of learning and experimenting in different sections
Cons: The experience gained inclined my mechanical state of thinking

Good exposure as an introduction to the work environment

A typical work day begins with a meeting to discuss maintenance work carried out on the previous day and any call outs or incidents that may have taken place the previous night. Planning for the current day is then carried out in terms of various tasks and responsibilities and they are assigned to individuals on the team. A healthy relationship was established with fellow workers in different departments which enables a smoother work flow and what I enjoy most is wiring the ABB protection relays and also uploading settings on the as per protection specification.

Pros: Good exposure to power generation
Cons: Contract duration only 2 years and no possibility of permanent employment or extension of contract

Excellent learning curve

Eskom is a good learning curve company especially in technical and Engineering learning how to do maintanance in plant and in workshop,i also did HRD cllerk for some time and also learning that once u are in a field u can choose to seat or grap holds of any information and work in many department i ordee to equip ya self

Pros: it woulld be an honor to gain an uplift in such manner,as in like a promotion in the field and learn more to lead and be in-front of people as i also hold a diploma in leadership and management

I've gained an experience

I was working front desk assisting customer on a daily basis with accounts and explain ing bills to them. some days it will be difficult as I met with different personalities which I haf to keep calm at all times, so that I'll be able to attend to their queries and give a excellent customer service.

Excellent track record of achievement

I have good working relationship with contractors on site and my work mates. coaching and providing advise regarding health and safety issues. i have learnt to be patient and helping employees to achieve organisational goals. i have enjoyed working with highly motivated staff and willingness to improve.
