I've leant a lot, installing meters, planting poles, fault finding
It's nice working here as the only female amongst guys, we get along so well I even climb 14m poles with them with no fear, the only challenge I've got is being away from home and not seeing your kid and prepare him for school, only see him on weekends only and the other thing being an Artisan that is earning less than 10000 a month
Pros: It will be great to get an Electrician job

I am a very self motivated individual who is very dedicated
I am currently studying towards my bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering; doing my final year. I am currently looking for electrical engineering training. I am a self-motivated person, I am also dedicated to my work; always do my best to every task that I have, even when I work with team I always participate and view team members’ ideas before we make a team decision. I have learnt that to work as a team self-discipline is crucial for the team work. I have good time management skill I find it important to deliver on time to avoid to work under pressure unnecessarily. My majors are based on High Voltage, Electrical Machine, Power Systems, and Illuminations. Power systems gave an opportunity to learn about power system protection in advanced, and safety of the power system equipments. I think I am fit for this position from my majors and basic understanding of engineering procedures and standards.

Average learning
The learning experience at ESKOM is good because as you get to learn from the employee, they are also willing to help. The benefits include training because the training anf certificates that are obtained are not only for ESKOM but also for other companies in case you leave ESKOM while the certificates are still valid.

I have learnt how to navigate an extremely complex environment. Negotiating with tough conversations with colleagues from different mindsets and thought process.

Excellent track record of achievement
I have good working relationship with contractors on site and my work mates. coaching and providing advise regarding health and safety issues. i have learnt to be patient and helping employees to achieve organisational goals. i have enjoyed working with highly motivated staff and willingness to improve.

Eskom, a global giant gave me opportunity and growth
On a daily basis wisdom and peace follow me to work where times in our once great organisation is tough. Its challenging to get decisions made quickly, get approvals, get sign off on project deliverables and still meet our client and stakeholder expectations. Luckily i have a very supportive team in my department. What i have learned over the last few years at Megawatt Park is how important communication and being a servant leader is. Be involved in project activities. It means more to people in this day and age then we think.

Very Good training
It's been a great training and a very challenging environment, the work environment is quite exceptional everyone is welcoming and willing to guide and assist. I've learnt a lot from just basic electricity to handling and operating HV current, from testing to connecting new customers, new transformers and substation maintenance and inspection, it has been a great learning curve but what I've enjoyed the most is the joy we brought to customers especially new customers to the network. The challenge would be the different types of personalities of customers we worked with in farms and the location especially when we have to cut off their power, they often threaten us with guns and African magic should we switch them off, that's why in some cases we are escorted by authorities, but either than that it's all good.
