It was great company to work for
I currently unemployed. I resigned last year in 2017 April 30. Due to personal reason. I been working for Transnet for the past ten years. Started as filing clerk for three month contract and the extended my contract to receptionist and I was employef as a permant employee in 2010 as Human resource time and attendance. I'm 2013 I moved to Operation I worked as operator lifting equipment . In 2013 I got a job at Transnet national port authority as office administrator. It was a nice experience working for a bigger company like Transnet. I had lot of opportunities I had an exposure working at procurement as stock takes and communication department organising event for a company. I was also in a women commitee and wellness champion group. My problem started when I moved to Operation because I worked long hours more than forty hours a week and nineteen days a month. It was hard and dispressing cause hardly see my kids and my family. But beside thati had wonderful time and I enjoyed my job.

Excellent learning curve
I would like to explore and learn new things. I would like to expand my knowledge and skills which I can not do at transnet engineering, there is no daily challenges they take their time to issue job card ofwhich I don't like waiting for.

From a Junior buyer to a Procument Manager in 10 years.
I'm an Acting Procurement Manager at Transnet Property. On a typical day I start at 06h30 checking on what was left undone the day before. From then I carry on with needs to be done for the day, like checking on the project progress and attending to meetings. I currently have a staff complement of 5 people reporting directly to me. 3 do the Operational works (OPEX) and the 2 are responsible for all the capital projects (CAPEX). The daily challenges of good reporting, meeting timelines and different characters are some of my learning experiences I had. I really enjoy the different dynamics brought by each project I deal with. Also the different individual characters bring out the best in how each day will pen out. Some of the best days are when I have to travel for site visits as well as for project handovers. I get that sense of satisfaction from seeing the projects I started having been completed.
Pros: I'm currently acting and hope to be appointed asap.
Cons: The scrutiny that is put on Procurement can sometimes be overwhelming.

Excellent learning curve
I work well in all days.i was the person who like to work as a team because I like to share knowledge and information.i learnt that if you work as team or group you gain the things you didn't know before and also the skills.i enjoy my work.actually there were no challenges if I did my work well

Exellent leaning curve
I have a good relationship with all my culeques . I also try to finish my work on it. to be productive as possible as I can. to assist my coluques and to stay positive at all the time. I always try to come with solution rather than creating problems. I ask where I do not understand I always try to be honest with everyone.

Career development
Working for Transnet is a experience, but career growth is a bit stagnant. I am a team player and love working in teams. I can work unsupervised, and am inspired individual employee. I am proactive, innovative and creative. Performance and Talent Management still have drawbacks.

Excellent learning curve
Was great for me to work for the company itself .And looking back I would do anything to get my job back as I'm struggling to find a job again. With all my changes in my life and all my challenges I feel ready to get my job back if opportunity is at hand.

Persistent and hard worker
Sound appreciation of the Welder artisan functiona but not limited to welding, operating various equipments and machenary, preparing components for welding, operating safety equipments, testing and assessing welded surfaces alighning components for welding, operating safety equipments and I possess integrity in occupational health and safety and ability to prevent work related incidents.
Pros: Quality service for rail transport
